Unexpected!

Last night was a very surprising night for me. Well, maybe the most surprising night I ever had in my life. (Am I oversaying something?) As usual, I decided to stay in my grandmother’s house, which is near Chung Hwa High School, because I hoped to slack off a bit after a long, tiring study hours. But, too bad, my dinner had been eaten by everyone else! What this meant? It meant that I would not have my dinner that night! Ah! No dinner for me?!

Thanks to my caring mother, she decided to give me a surprise. I was curious about the “surprise” she was going to give me, so I made up my mind to follow my parents home, which is located near Gurney Plaza. Yeah! Firstly, I followed my parents to their company and helped them to finish some paper works they left off. I really hoped I could get salary for that. But, as their loyal son, I had to complete them for free! (They never know there’s no free lunch in this world! Ah well!)

After finishing the paper works, I was excited as I was going to get my surprise! Woo-hoo! But, they took me to three different banks instead, which are Hong Leong, Standard Charted and Maybank. What?! Were they kidding?! Why did they take me to three banks?! It was because they wanted to teach me how to deposit cash and cheques! Interesting! Hell no! The surprise was lame! Very very lame! Perhaps I would not have my dinner anymore! I was hungry!

Banking period was over! I asked them to take me to a bread shop, so that I could buy some breads to stuff into my mouth. Luckily, they showed mercy to me! They took me to KFC! Yay! I had a three years old mind anyway! I enjoyed my time eating two pieces of chickens, potato wedges, two cups of Pepsi! (I’m serious!) So, this was the surprise they were mentioning. Creative, weren’t they?!

So, thanks to the KFC boss, I settled my hungry problem! I could finally go home and continued on my study. But… But! They took me to somewhere odd. They took me to Gurney Hotel. What the hell! Were they really my parents?! I followed them to take the lift up to second floor. Hmm… Interesting! So, we were staying in Gurney Hotel that night! Cool beans! That’s what I call surprise!

While waiting for them to say, “Surprise!”, I felt something was wrong.. Something was very wrong! Why? We were heading to gym! Ah! Why a gym?! They registered their and my names inside the gym registration form! What were they thinking?! They were killing me! Help me, somebody! Then, my father said, “Surprise, son! You’re going to have a wonderful and tiring night tonight! Now, go play!”

Play?! I’m seventeen years old! They asked me to play?! Forcefully, I used the odd machine. I had to run on the machine and checked my capability. This was no challenge! Running is my specialty anyway! I didn’t know how to read the readings displayed on the machine, so I just continued running. Then, one of the instructor approached us and smiled. “Your son is doing quite well in running! You’re new here, kid?!” The instructor said. At that time, everyone who was exercising there was looking at me. Darn! Was he trying to mock me?!

Well, I had to reply! “Yes. My parents force me to join.” I answered. The instructor smiled. I knew he was laughing at me deep inside his heart. Parents were forcing their son to perform exercises in a gym! What a humiliation! “Good then. You should build up your muscles! You’re too skinny! How about taking some weights?” He said in a challenging tone.

I shook of course. I was not going to take some weights! Well, luckily he knew I was annoyed that time. So, he left me alone running. Yesh! Better leave or maybe I will give you my fist of fury! (Joking!) After the tiring exercise, I was completely worn out. I went to the cafeteria and drank a cup of coffee. Then, I took a shower there. After that, I went home with my parents. If you were wandering what they were doing when I was running, I will tell you that they were reading newspapers and watching TV.

When we reached home, I brushed my teeth and directly went to bed. I was tired. Thanks to them, I could not study! My SPM! Before I had time to complaint, I was asleep! That night was indeed an unexpected night!
